North Fish drops anchor in Birmingham

Polish restaurant operator for first UK site at the Bullring

Savills has announced that Polish restaurant operator, North Fish, is to open its first UK site, at the Hammerson-owned Bullring, Birmingham.

The established chain, which already operates 47 sites in Poland, has agreed a  10 year lease for a 1,511 sq ft unit at the Birmingham destination.

North Fish specialises in healthy fish and seafood dishes as well as vegetarian food, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, soups, homemade lemonade and smoothies. Following its success in shopping centres and high street locations in Poland, the brand is now seeking to expand within the UK as well as in the Middle East and CEE.

Carlene Hughes, leisure director at Savills, commented: “Having undergone admirable growth in Poland, we’re really pleased to have supported North Fish on acquiring its first site in the UK. The brand has identified a gap in the market for high quality, convenient fish dishes and we look forward to continuing to work with the restaurant chain as it expands its presence throughout the UK.”

Szymon Adamczuk, group CEO at North Food, said: “Whilst a lot has been achieved already, we are hungrier than ever to develop our brand globally and we’ve chosen the UK as the first region outside of our home market, because we see here a great potential for our concept, which offers quality food for a reasonable price. Today I’m glad to announce the arrival of our first UK restaurant in a leading shopping mall and I strongly believe that this will be just a beginning of our successful growth in the UK.”
