Transformation of Antrim scheme continues
The Junction retail and leisure park has signed three new F&B offerings, following the recent grant of planning permission for a series of developments to the scheme.
Expansion will begin this Spring, including the new addition of American restaurant chain TGI Fridays and a new Starbucks drive-thru. The eateries will join the previously announced Nando’s, with all three set to open towards the end of 2019, expanding the ever-growing portfolio of brands at the Junction and reinforcing its F&B offering.
Further development at the Antrim Retail and Leisure Park will continue throughout the year and includes a new gateway entrance-road to the shopping centre and an extensive new landscaping plan, featuring a tree-lined boulevard leading to a new piazza style courtyard.
The Junction retail park was bought by Lotus Property in 2016. The new developments at the centre form part of the overall £30m regeneration masterplan, which has seen the recent completion of McDonald’s drive-thru and Lidl’s new supermarket. Leading UK toy retailer the Entertainer is also set to open its second store in Northern Ireland at the Junction in June.
Craig Stewart, senior asset manager of Lotus Property, said: “The upcoming developments will further strengthen the retail and entertainment offering and add to our goal of transforming the retail and leisure shopping centre in Antrim.”
From our initial outline planning approval in December 2017, we have worked behind the scenes to push ongoing generation at the site, which has seen new retailers such as McDonald’s, Intersport, Bonmarché and Beauty Outlet join the scheme.
Construction work will begin in the coming weeks as we embark on bringing the next phase of this major regeneration project to fruition.”
