New restaurant chain selects intu Merry Hill for first UK site

Pizzasqr is launching the first of a new chain of grab and go pizza restaurants at super-regional shopping destination intu Merry Hill. Pizzasqr will sell artisanal square pizza slices and is on its way to becoming one of the biggest pizza chains in the country with plans to open 100 stores in the next five years, each priding themselves on the quality of their highly appetizing pizza.

The new concept will open at intu Merry Hill this summer as owner intu prepares to invest £100m to replicate the successful leisure offer of its other popular locations across the UK. intu plans to build a 180,000 sq ft leisure extension at intu Merry Hill that will introduce more new restaurants and an on-site cinema, bringing the centre’s retail and leisure mix in line with destinations like intu Trafford Centre. Similar developments are underway at intu Lakeside and intu Watford.

Nick Round, regional managing director at intu, said: “We’re investing millions to transform intu Merry Hill and provide the very best customer “Exciting new dining concepts like Pizzasqr are a key focus of our plans to update the centre’s leisure offer while intu’s nationwide portfolio of the UK’s best and most popular shopping destinations means we’re well placed to help new concepts expand across the country.”
