    Two sign in Altrincham

Stamford Quarter secures two new brands

Sostrene Grene and Orangetheory Fitness have signed at Stamford Quarter in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, recently named Britain’s best high street.

American gym franchise Orangetheory Fitness is the latest brand to sign in the town, taking a new 10-year lease on a 6,000-sq ft unit in George Street. It will occupy the remainder of the unit formerly occupied by New Look, joining Flannels which opened last December.

Danish homewares chain Sostrene Grene opened in Stamford Quarter in November. It is only its third UK store, following Nottingham and Chester. Located on the other side of Flannels in George Street, it has taken 27,000 sq ft over three floors on a 10-year lease.

Altrincham recently scooped the best English High Street award at the Great British High Street Awards, run by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. Altrincham beat 12 other finalists in recognition of its “ongoing events throughout the year to drive footfall to the local high street”.

HRH Retail and Barker Proudlove advised landlord Lunar Altrincham on the deals; Harper Dennis Hobbs represented Orangetheory Fitness, Hynes Illingworth represented Sostrene Grene.

HRH Retail partner Tim Hance said: “It is testimony to Altrincham’s remarkable turnaround that it has been able to attract these two exciting international brands, especially as both are still relatively unknown in the UK. Stamford Quarter’s rejuvenation, as well as other developments in the town, like the popular food market, have combined to ensure that Altrincham is now firmly on the retail map.”
