Capital & Regional appoints former Debenhams director of group property as new commercial director
Community shopping centre investor Capital & Regional has announced the permanent appointment of Robert Hadfield as the company’s commercial director.
Hadfield, Debenhams’ former group property director, joined Capital & Regional as a consultant earlier this year and has since been working alongside Capital & Regional’s senior leadership team to support the company’s community strategy.
In his new role, Hadfield will be responsible for directing the leasing team, CML and temp lettings to drive new retail deals and execute innovative asset management strategies to optimise the use of space across Capital & Regional’s portfolio of eight community shopping centres.
CEO Lawrence Hutchings said: “Rob has been an excellent influence on our business since he joined us as consultant and we’re thrilled to take him on board permanently as commercial director. Rob’s experience as a retailer will be key to ensuring that we continue to innovate in the community retail sector. He has a detailed understanding of the retail market and the critical information retailers need when leasing new locations.”
