Sovereign Centros, on behalf of Frasers Group, has announced two new openings at The Mall shopping centre in Luton.

Having acquired the Wilko’s brand from the administrators, The Range has signed a new lease to take a 35,000sq ft store which will operate under the Wilko’s fascia – one of only five shops it will open this side of the festive season. The store was formerly occupied by Wilko’s.

In the middle of the centre, Starbucks has taken a 1,720sq ft unit on a 15-year lease.

Both brands plan to be open for Christmas trading.

Mark Stapleton, asset manager at Sovereign Centros said: “These two openings are great news for the centre and the town ahead of that critical pre-Christmas period and will give shoppers an added reason to visit us.”

The 900,000sq ft shopping centre boasts a flagship Primark store, along with high street favourites TK Maxx, H&M, River Island and Boots. Its grocery offer includes Lidl and Tesco Express. With over 120 shops, cafes and restaurants including Costa and Muffin Break, along with the Market Hall, the centre expects to announce other new openings in the coming months.

Letting agents are JLL and NM Real Estate.

Morgan Williams advised The Range and EYCO represented Starbucks.
