Arc’teryx, the global design company specialising in technical high-performance outerwear and equipment, has announced that its first store outside London will be located on Manchester’s New Cathedral Street.

Sven Radtke, general manager – Arc’teryx EMEA, said: “Manchester is a vibrant urban hub that serves as a launchpad for outdoor enthusiasts. Its proximity to diverse natural landscapes makes it a gateway to the outdoors and a haven for hiking, climbing and other activities. Our goal is to help our core communities get out, doing what they love, equipped with the most high-performance gear to reach their goals.”

Located opposite Manchester Arndale, CBRE Sovereign Centros on behalf of M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual act as joint asset managers of New Cathedral Street, and across both assets they have attracted multiple brands looking to expand into Manchester.

Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “Arc’teryx has become a hugely popular brand among younger shoppers, so we are delighted it has selected New Cathedral Street as its first UK store outside London. Its arrival highlights the continued demand we are seeing from leading brands keen to expand out of London, with Manchester becoming the next step on their UK expansion plans thanks to its growing population and strong consumer spend.”

Scott Linard, portfolio director for M&G Real Estate, added: “The arrival of Arc’teryx further enhances New Cathedral Street’s reputation as the home of premium brands in Manchester. Over the past few years, we have been proud to welcome growing brands such as Arc’teryx and Represent seeking high-quality, well-located physical retail space outside London. With our strong customer base and reputation as the go-to fashion destination in the North West, we look forward to welcoming more new brands to Manchester.”
