Cribbs has announced the appointment of Andy Jackson as its new centre director.

Andy brings with him a proven track record in the shopping centre and retail environment having previously held centre manager roles at Westquay in Southampton, Mailbox in Birmingham, Centre:MK and The Gracechurch Centre in Sutton Coldfield.

At Cribbs, Andy joins Leon Morse and Lizzie Taylor as part of the site leadership team at Cribbs, and will be responsible for Cribbs Mall, Cribbs Venue leisure park, and Cribbs Retail Park which are owned by M&G Real Estate, and asset managed by Sovereign Centros from CBRE.

This will include working with Cribbs’ wide variety of retailers ranging from long-term occupiers John Lewis, M&S, Next, H&M, and Boots, through to recent arrivals such as AllSaints, Animal, Victoria’s Secret, and Mango, while helping to grow the estates F&B and leisure offerings.

Andy’s role will also include being an ambassador for Cribbs and working alongside key stakeholders to promote investment into the Western Innovation Arc. The group, set up by The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA) and South Gloucestershire Council, supported by a team of placemaking, transport and economic consultants, is looking at opportunities to enhance growth in the East of South Gloucestershire, which is already home to major employers including Airbus, BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, Ministry of Defence, Royal Mail and the University of the West of England.

Meanwhile, Andy will continue to work closely with local projects such as the neighbouring Brabazon Development, which is set to deliver 6,500 homes, 2,000 student rooms, a 19,500-capacity arena, as well as the creation of 30,000 jobs, all within walking distance of Cribbs.

Andy Jackson, centre director at Cribbs, said: “I am so excited to join one of the UK’s most successful retail and leisure destinations. As the home of more than 150 shops and restaurants, and with 6.2 million people seeing Cribbs as their closest super regional shopping centre it is no wonder that brands are queuing up to join our line-up.

“I look forward to working with new and existing brands as we continue to innovate our offering to our growing shopper base, whilst also building connections with local stakeholders to promote Cribbs as the South West’s leading day out destination.

Iain Minto, senior director, asset management at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Jackson as the new centre director for Cribbs. Andy will be able to build on the fantastic work the team have done in turning Cribbs into so much more than a shopping destination as we continue to innovate our leisure and F&B offering to create an all-day destination which caters for our thriving younger audience.

“This is an exciting time for Cribbs Causeway, and Andy will play a vital role in working with our local stakeholders to promote this part of the South West to both national and international investors keen to capitalise on the growth opportunities available across this region.”

Sovereign Centros from CBRE provide full asset management services across Cribbs on behalf of M&G Real Estate, while Time Retail Partners and Cushman & Wakefield are retained letting agents for the centre, with Green & Partners retained in the leasing advisory role.
