The winners of the Telegraph & Argus Bradford BUSINESSiQ Awards 2025 were announced earlier this month at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford, with Ian Ward, general manager at The Broadway, Bradford, receiving the Outstanding Contribution Award.

Joanne Ellerton, regional events manager – North of England for Newsquest-LocaliQ, said: “A special mention goes to Ian Ward, recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Award. Ian is a true champion for Bradford – a tireless advocate for its culture, its businesses and, above all, its people.
“His passion and dedication have played a pivotal role in driving the city’s economic growth and elevating its profile across the region. He truly embodies what it means to be an ambassador for Bradford.
Well done, Ian — thoroughly deserved. 👏”

She added: “Although next time, could you try not being so involved in absolutely everything!! Trying to surprise a man who knows more about Bradford than Google was no small feat!”

Ellerton said the Awards’ night ended with a standing ovation, and bringing Ian’s wife and children on stage for a surprise moment – “Unforgettable, what a way to end,” she said.

Ian said: “Thank you to everyone who kept this under wraps. My job is to know what is going on in Bradford, I failed miserably on this one
“I can safely say in all my working career this is my proudest moment, and to do it in Bradford with a group of people who want to make a difference means so much more. Thank you Bradford!!!”

Stephanie Potter, marketing director of Shoppertainment, was one of the first to congratulate Ian, saying: “His passion and dedication have played a pivotal role in driving the city’s economic growth and elevating its profile across the region. He truly embodies what it means to be an ambassador for Bradford.“
