Lendlease has confirmed the signing of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants at Stratford Cross’ landmark Pavilion building. The 10,000sq ft space will house the sixth London opening of Gordon Ramsay’s popular Bread Street Kitchen & Bar.

Spanning all three levels of Stratford Cross’ Pavilion and set to open on June 3, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar will operate seven days a week for lunch and dinner, with additional areas available for private dining and events, alongside a community workspace within the ground floor café, serving coffee and pastries from 8am Monday to Friday. The picturesque 3,000sq ft rooftop bar offers al-fresco dining with views across the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and East Bank Cultural quarter, and on the ground floor there is an additional 30-seater outside terrace.

The arrival of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants reinforces the collection of quality F&B options at a key gateway between Westfield Stratford, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Lendlease’s cultural and creative hub at Stratford Cross.

Bread Street Kitchen & Bar Stratford was chosen as the new tenant within the landmark Pavilion building due to its alignment with the diverse audiences using the Stratford Cross and the surrounding amenities. Stratford Cross is already home to more than 1.04m sq ft of offices, with the Turing Building launching this summer to deliver an additional 350,000sq ft of Grade A space, and is surrounded by a vast array of cultural and retail facilities that attracts a broad and diverse catchment.

Guy Thomas, head of retail and place assets at Lendlease, commented: “The Pavilion is the landmark building for Stratford, in the heart of a neighbourhood that has fast become a cultural and creative hub for London. We knew how important it would be to enliven such an iconic building, and secured Gordon Ramsey following a surrender of the former D&D lease. With the Everyman Cinema joining later this year, and the Turing Building launching in the coming months, a multi-dimensional F&B offer from Gordon Ramsay Restaurants gives Stratford Cross exactly what it needs to support a growing community of residents, workers, and visitors.”

Andy Wenlock, CEO of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, added: “The bold vision for Stratford Cross is what initially attracted Gordon and I to the destination. Spending time within its energetic, creative neighbourhood and inclusive community, there is no doubt it is an ideal home for us. The jewel in Stratford Cross’ crown is certainly the Pavilion building, creating a striking location for a brand-new flagship Bread Street Kitchen & Bar.”

Peter Hawthorne, CEO of LCR, said: “Taking over what is the focal point of the Stratford Cross development, Gordon Ramsay’s highly-recognised F&B brands are an ideal match for such an iconic building as the Pavilion. Stratford Cross is an exceptionally exciting location full of potential for F&B and retail brands, businesses, and residents.”

Located at the gateway to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the heart of East London’s Stratford, Stratford Cross (formerly International Quarter London) is a £2.4bn joint venture between Lendlease and regeneration specialist LCR. The new mixed-use development and inclusive innovation district combines the best of London’s culture, entertainment, shops, and restaurants with desirable homes and globally recognised workplaces. Stratford Cross is set to welcome Everyman’s elevated cinema concept later this year.
