    The perks of parking

Why ParkingPerx teaming up with RingGo is good news for the high street

ParkingPerx has announced it is launching its new integration with RingGo, the UK’s leading cashless parking provider, bringing its rewards-based parking payment system to many new locations across the UK.

With the exclusive arrangement, motorists can earn ‘Perx’ by spending in participating businesses, including shops, cinemas, salons, cafes and restaurants, and then use those ‘Perx’ to pay for parking via the RingGo app that same day, or save them for a later date.

Created by Chris Reed, founder of ProxiSmart, and backed by Dragons’ Den dragon Jenny Campbell, ParkingPerx is a loyalty solution created to address footfall challenges on local high streets by helping local businesses increase sales by incentivising a return to parking and shopping in town and city centres, encouraging and rewarding motorists who spend in their local area.

“The solution delivers an uplift in footfall, spending and location loyalty for the businesses, and overcomes the barrier of the cost of parking to town centre shopping,” says Chris Reed.

“For local businesses, ParkingPerx offers a direct and measurable way of uplifting spending in their offline stores. It delivers positive goodwill by offering something valuable – free parking – in exchange for their custom in local businesses. At present, ParkingPerx users are spending on average 19% more than a non-ParkingPerx customer.”

RingGo payment locations are widespread across the UK, and Reed says the partnership will bring free parking to more people in more places, aligning with ParkingPerx’ desire to help reinvigorate local economies.

He believes that together, the two companies can provide a connected, valuable and accessible digital solution for consumers and reward them for shopping offline and supporting their local high street.

In order to get involved, businesses need to contact the ParkingPerx team and begin the process of crafting their ‘offer’ on the app and sharing marketing assets to help them promote that they are part of the scheme.

Reed says that if the new partnership has not yet launched in an area yet they will let interested parties know as soon as they have the go-ahead so that they can join the app pre-launch.

“We’re also running an early bird offer in each location at the moment – for the first 25 businesses to sign up in their BID area, ParkingPerx will add £100 to their account so that they can trial using the loyalty solution in their business for free,” he adds.

Peter O’Driscoll, managing director at RingGo adds that working with both local councils and ParkingPerx creates another avenue to help breathe life into local communities: “Together we are helping people clearly see a way back to something that feels normal – visiting the local high street. Through a connected and convenient digital solution, you can park, shop, eat and enjoy and support your local shops, cafes and restaurants, all while being rewarded for it.”
