Metrocentre Gateshead will host its first Comic Con this coming weekend, taking place in Exhibition and Town Square on Saturday Sunday March 23 and 24.

Shoppers can expect a blast from the past with everything from classic arcade games to a showcase of rare comic memorabilia. Super fans will also get the chance to snap a picture with the iconic Bat Mobile.

Fans will be able to take a trip down memory lane in the gaming section with its range of old-school arcade games, such as Air Hockey and Dance Stage and there’s a picture opportunity on every corner with a whole host of life-sized superhero sculptures.

The trading stalls will be filled with cool vintage comics, POP figures and some exclusive goodies, and will give fans the chance to delve into the captivating world of rare comics and memorabilia and behold the legendary Batmobile for an adventure beyond the pages.

Helen Atkinson, Metrocentre marketing manager, said: “We’re so excited to announce the arrival of Comic Con here at Metrocentre. With a range of activities lined up and the iconic Bat Mobile, we have no doubt this will be a huge hit with Metrocentre shoppers.”

Visitors are encouraged to join in with the cosplay parade and dress up as their favourite characters. All costumes must be appropriate and respectful to uphold the inclusive and fun atmosphere the event has to offer.
