Vue Islington has announced that its major refurbishment project is scheduled to reach completion in early 2024. The 10-screen site located in the heart of Islington is seeing significant investment and undergoing a comprehensive refit that, once complete, will transform the site into a full recliner seating venue complete with a refurbished foyer incorporating the latest Coke Freestyle, Lavazza Coffee and Tango Ice Blast machines.

Set within Islington’s Angel Central, the refurbishment will transform Vue Islington, with 788 luxury leather recliner seats that are capable of reclining fully back and come complete with a fold away tray and cup holder.

Customers can also enjoy improvements to the foyer, concourse and toilets areas, along with new digital displays that will showcase all of the latest blockbusters and promotional material.

Manuk Asatryan, general manager of Vue Islington, said: “We look forward to reflecting the continually improving leisure offering here in Islington with these upgrades and providing even more reason to spend a day in the area.”

Louisa Butters, head of retail asset management UK at CBRE Investment Management, owners of Angel Central, added: “The co-investment to transform the Vue cinema is great news for the Angel Central community.  The high quality, state-of-the-art experience being created will provide even more reasons to visit the centre, and complements the recent new additions to Angel Central’s offer and our significant investment in its refurbishment.”
