Anytime Fitness is to open in Bowen Square, Daventry, after it signed a deal with national commercial property and investment company LCP.

LCP has agreed a 15-year lease with a franchisee for the former cinema building.

The deal for the two-storey, 7,600 sq ft building marks the first tenancy LCP has agreed since it took over the ownership and management of the Square.

The new site for the world’s largest 24-hour gym has an expected opening date in Q1 2021.

Martin Wade, LCP asset manager, said: “We are pleased to have completed our first deal within a few weeks of taking over Bowen Square. By attracting a well-known gym brand to the shopping parade, we’re already expanding the offering for the local community, with a welcome and much-needed leisure facility.”

Raja Hasib, company director of Anytime Fitness Headington (Oxford), said “The new gym will be spacious, safe and will have all the latest Covid safety measures. Anytime Fitness Daventry will create a supportive, community-based atmosphere and will provide engaging and premium services at an affordable price.

“The club’s management team is excited to work with both commercial and local businesses, to get the community fit and healthy again and to meeting everyone and showing them around once we’ve completed the fit out.”

    JLL acted as agents.
