Scarborough’s the Brunswick shopping centre has struck a 12-month media partnership with local radio station, This is the Coast in a deal that marks the first tie-up between the two organisations.

As part of the agreement, This is the Coast will utilise the centre’s spaces for live broadcasts and branding opportunities, while the Brunswick will run a series of promotions on air and online to make the station’s listeners aware of its facilities.

Nicola Bulley, group head of marketing and communications at Scarborough Group International (SGI), which owns and manages the Brunswick, said: “Partnerships are at the core of Scarborough Group International’s work in creating thriving spaces for people to live, work and enjoy.

“This is the Coast is a key stakeholder for the Brunswick and their mission of creating a strong sense of community really resonates with our own values and those of the Brunswick, so we’re really pleased to establish this relationship.”

Paddy Billington, presenter and director at This Is The Coast, added: “This Is The Coast is a radio station which puts the Yorkshire Coast at the heart of everything we do and the Brunswick is very much the heartbeat of Scarborough town centre. We are really excited to be working in partnership with the Brunswick, utilising its fabulous spaces and helping increase footfall within the centre with our on air and online promotions.”

Stephen Marriott, centre manager at the Brunswick, commented: “Given This is the Coast’s extensive reach across Scarborough, Filey, Whitby and Bridlington, our partnership agreement will enable us to showcase the Brunswick’s facilities to our target audience in alternative ways and hopefully increase footfall through the centre from people who may not be familiar with it.”
