Festival Place in Basingstoke has received two key industry awards for its commitment to social responsibility as well as health & safety.

Its collaborative approach to opening a testing Randox facility and an NHS pop-up Health Hub has been rewarded with an International CSR award by the International CSR Excellence Awards committee. In addition, recognising its commitment to the delivery of safety in the workplace, Festival Place has received the RoSPA Order of Distinction Award, marking its 16th consecutive year as a Gold Award recipient, a record for any shopping centre destination.

Neil Churchill, centre director at Festival Place, said: “We are honoured to see our efforts being celebrated by these awards which recognise our high service standards and our long-term commitment to social responsibility as well as health & safety. We believe that providing a safe and secure environment that encompasses accessible health services is key to delivering an enhanced destination experience. We are proud to be leading by example.”

Having launched in October 2002, Festival Place was acquired by AEW in 2015 and is the highest ranked shopping centre outside a major UK city. It is listed in the top 25 of the latest Global Data’s UK shopping centres report and sits within Trevor Wood Associates’ Premier League of shopping centres. The 1.1m sq ft retail and leisure destination features brands such as Apple, H&M, M&S, Next, Waterstones, BrewDog and Five Guys alongside amenities including a sports centre with swimming pool and gym, a 10-screen Vue Cinema, a Flip Out trampoline park, Escape and indoor entertainment experience plus office space and a library.
