From July 4-31, Thistles shopping centre in Stirling will have a new, free, nine-hole mini golf course. The Around the World mini golf course, which will be open from 12noon – 4pm each day, arrives in time for the 150th Open, which takes place in nearby St Andrews.

The course has nine holes which take players around iconic landmarks across the world, including Big Ben, The Great Wall of China and the Eiffel Tower.

Thistles is continuing its efforts to support the local community through its #ThistlesHelps campaign by partnering with Scottish Sports Futures to raise money for the national charity through donations received during the mini golf free event. Scottish Sports Futures works with communities across the country to offer a range of activities and workshops to vulnerable and disadvantaged young people and families, empowering them to be confident, healthy, and happy

Gary Turnbull, centre director at Thistles, said: “This is the first event of its kind at the centre and we’re really pleased to be able to offer something so different and engaging completely free of charge to the public during the summer holidays.

“Throughout the year we have had a great focus on our #ThistlesHelps campaign, supporting charities that have a great impact on the local area and we are delighted to be partnering with Scottish Sports Futures for this event.

Neal Herbert, East Central manager at Scottish Sports Futures, said: “It is great to be working in partnership with Thistles to promote physical activity within the community throughout the summer holidays. This partnership not only provides our young people with activity over the summer, it also helps to increase their physical activity levels at no cost which has never been more needed!”
