40,000 sq ft of new lettings, refits and upsizes for West London mall

Schroder UK Real Estate Fund has welcomed two new brands and facilitated the upsize of two more at the 340,000 sq ft Kings Mall shopping centre. The Entertainer has agreed a 10-year lease for a 3,500-sq ft unit, while Bhavi Beauty, a local beauty operator, is opening a permanent 2,000-sq ft unit in the scheme, following a successful trial in a pop-up within the mall.

Meanwhile, opticians Specsavers has moved within the scheme to take a larger unit of 3,000 sq ft secured on a new 10- year lease. And a new pop-up shop, Made in Hammersmith and Fulham, has also taken up residence in the scheme in a 2,000 sq ft unit.

Jessica Berney, fund manager for SREF, said: “Our focus at Hammersmith is to mould King’s Mall to better meet the needs and wants of the community. Retailers are increasingly selective about where they operate physical stores and Hammersmith remains a location of choice. Our management approach is focused on combining the brands that people need easy access to – such as Specsavers and The Entertainer – with the best of local independent business – such as Made in Hammersmith and Bhavvi Beauty – that consumers are proud to support.”

SREF was represented by Bruce Gillingham Pollard and CBRE.
