Commercial property and investment company LCP has signed new leases lease with three businesses in just six weeks at Knightswood Shopping Centre, in Knightswood, meaning the shopping centre is fully let for the first time in three years.

Beds West End Limited, a bedding and homeware retailer that is expanding its central Scotland network of stores, has acquired a 4,875 sq ft shop after agreeing a five-year lease.

Tubbees, a locally owned family business that sells slush drinks, desserts and confectionery, has agreed a 10-year lease of a 2,400 sq ft store as it pursues ambitious growth plans across west central Scotland.

The final tenant at the centre, which is anchored by Tesco, is pawnbroker Pisces Gold which has signed a five-year lease for a 1,070 sq ft unit.

Roddy Proudfoot, head of Scotland at LCP, which manages the centre, said achieving full occupancy after a challenging 15 months for retailers demonstrates the value of local convenience parades.

“We are committed to investing in our local retail centres to ensure that we attract tenants that add real value and broaden the appeal of the centre to the local shoppers who use them,” he said.

“The enduring appeal of Knightswood – and convenience retail in general – is that we have a great range of services on offer which are easily accessible. These lettings further strengthen the local offer in Knightswood and we are delighted to welcome these new occupiers.”
