Work starts on £6.5m revamp in Eastbourne
The Langney shopping centre, which first opened its doors in 1973 and is thought to be the first district shopping centre of its kind in the UK, will see the creation of 13 new shops, a 24-hour gym, the complete resurfacing and an improved layout of the car park, plus additional living accommodation over the centre.
The centre is already home to more than 30 popular retail stores and is a hub for the local community. The new volunteer-run library will also be opening its doors very soon.
Centre manager Neil Avis said: “We’re bucking the national trend by investing in our shopping centre and this investment will ensure we have much to offer our customers for years to come.”
Joint letting agents are GCW and Jackson Criss.
