    Longmartin launches Covent Garden flagship

    New retail site opens at the gateway to Covent Garden

    Longmartin Properties, a joint venture between Shaftesbury and The Mercers’ Company, has completed the £10m refurbishment of 143 Long Acre. The building is situated at the gateway to Covent Garden from Leicester Square and comprises a flagship retail store and five floors of office space.

    Located on the corner of Long Acre, and with St Martin’s Courtyard sitting behind, the fully refurbished 143 Long Acre building leads with a 4,000-sq ft flagship store on the ground floor with. An additional 7,600 sq ft of offices across five floors above. Designed by Ian Ritchie Architects, the building has enhanced the prominent corner on Long Acre with glazed panelled walls and floor-to-ceiling windows.

    Charles Owen, portfolio executive at Shaftesbury said: “Our significant investment in this project highlights our commitment to delivering a high-quality mixed-use space within the heart of Covent Garden. Taking full advantage of its unique positioning in London’s West End, this redevelopment sets the benchmark for the future plans of the Longmartin Estate. All elements of the building have been carefully considered to complement the rich heritage within the area, while still delivering a statement retail and office space.”

    Colliers and Hanover Green Retail are the leasing agents for the retail space at 143 Long Acre and Colliers and CBRE for the offices.
