Longmartin Properties Ltd, a joint venture between Shaftesbury and the Mercers’ Company, has announced the signing of Haz, a modern Mediterranean restaurant, at 10 Upper St Martin’s Lane, for its first West End flagship location, within The Yards, Covent Garden.

Haz currently operates six sites across The City and is set to launch the 7,000 sq ft restaurant within The Yards in early 2022,

Known for warm and traditional Turkish hospitality, Haz’s newest West End flagship restaurant will cater to 150 covers, both inside and out and will feature a bespoke menu, all using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, especially created for The Yards.

Zafer Cicek, director of Haz, commented on the new West End restaurant: “As three Turkish men in the UK, we found ourselves unable to find traditional food from our homeland in London and set about to be the first truly authentic Turkish restaurant in the capital.

“Two decades later, we have established ourselves as a warm and inviting restaurant providing brilliant authentic Mediterranean cuisine.

“We have always been keen to open a site in central London and had not found anything quite right up until now. The Yards offers us the perfect location and space, all with the added bonus of being alongside other like-minded brands in this exciting new food destination.”

On behalf of Longmartin Properties Ltd, Simon Taylor, property director at the Mercers’ Company added: “Over the years, the team behind Haz has created a much-loved authentic Mediterranean 0ffering and the brand’s traditional Turkish menu is set to join an eclectic mix of global cuisines, sitting perfectly next to well-loved concepts including the new upsized Dishoom plus many more to come.”

CBRE is the asset manager on behalf of Longmartin Properties and Colliers and DCL acted for The Yards. Haz represented themselves.
