Landsec has announced that Nike will open Nike Unite Portsmouth, the brand’s community-focused concept that helps connect people with sport, at Gunwharf Quays.

The new lease sees Nike upsize from its existing 8,570 sq ft store at Gunwharf Quays to a 11,160 sq ft space where it will create new experiences that celebrate sport and the local community.

The new store will open its doors at the waterfront outlet destination in spring 2022, with a full refit of the existing Nike store already underway.

Guests will be welcomed by an in-store community wall highlighting the store team and local partnerships, as well as local landmarks and hometown athletes to help local residents feel represented in the space.

Gemma Casey, senior retail channel director at Landsec commented: “We’re committed to working with our brand partners to meet their evolving retail needs, and this exciting refit for Nike will give them an even bigger and better space to showcase the latest trends in sports clothing and engage with their customers.

“Nike Unite Portsmouth will be a welcome addition for our guests at Gunwharf Quays, providing opportunities for the local community to enjoy sport together.”
