There’s still time to book your place at Retail Destination Live 2022, which takes place on Thursday July 14 at Jury’s Inn, Hinckley Island.

The theme is Future Places and the packed agenda gives you the chance to hear what industry leaders have to say about the hot topics facing the industry and then join in the lively Q&A sessions.

In the evening, you can network and make lots of valuable connections at the Gala Dinner. Entertainment will be provided by top comedian Alun Cochrane, who has appeared on numerous TV shows including Have I Got News For You and Eight Out of 10 Cats.

The day kicks off with a Welcome by the chairs: David Allinson, centre director for Manchester Arndale and Michelle Buxton, founder and CEO of Toolbox Group.

The first session, entitled Management Challenges, runs from 10-11am. There will be a focus on security: Martyn’s Law, activism and anti-social behaviour. Dawn Osbourne, director at NOVA, will be joined by Phil Wilkinson, Homeland Security Group (HSG) at the Home Office to discuss this very important subject.

    Also included will be:

Service charge and leases – staffing, marketing, tenant relations – delivered by Catherine Lambert, director, Savills

Customer engagement – footfall, data, online, market dynamics by  Alex McCulloch, director, and Hannah Smith, senior consultant from CACI.

Then there will be a panel discussion.

Innovation hour will run from 11.30-12.30 with Ben Dean, COO, Square Mile Farms covering urban greening/vertical farming.

Adaptations in our shopping places will be discussed by Jen Scott, founding partner of Hustle and Heels.

And Gareth Jordan, ART Software Group director and Anand Basu-Attwood, commercial operations manager of Resorts World Birmingham, will discuss data-driven decisions and innovation in retail and leisure places in Are you up to data? –

After lunch sustainability will be tackled. First at 13.30 will be retailer sustainability presented by Kevin Duffy, centre director at Centre:MK. Then property sustainability will be the topic for David Johnston, partner at Wedlake Bell.

From 14.40–16.10 we will look to the future with our Future Vision slot. Dr Amna Khan, senior lecturer in consumer behaviour at Manchester Metropolitan University, will talk about the integration of online and in-store.

Next up with be ‘The C word’ from Chloe Keith, MD at Toolbox Marketing, and she is, of course, talking about community!

This will be followed by the Future Gazers panel discussion. Hosting the panel is Ibrahim Ibrahim, MD at Portland Design and author of Future Ready Retail. Joining him is Michael Harrison – co-founder of Gravity Active Entertainment, Emma Hindes – COO of Eurofund, Robert Jewell – UK MD of Axis, and also some of the day’s speakers.

At 16.10 there will be a round up and close by our chairs.
