Savills has announced the appointment of Julie Garsden as Head of Leisure, joining the company as a director within the Property Management Team.

Ms Garsden will will head up the Leisure property management team across the UK who act on behalf of a number of clients including Legal & General, Otium Properties, Quadrant, The Crown Estate and LandSec.

She will also be working closely with the specialist shopping centre and out of town retail property management teams with a specific focus on supporting the management of the F&B and leisure elements of those schemes.

Garsden brings with her over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, most recently working at LandSec where she undertook the asset management of the firm’s leisure portfolio. Prior to her time at LandSec, she spent a number of years in Lisbon, Portugal, working for CBRE and then latterly the factory outlet operator, Freeport.

Commenting on her new position, Julie Garsden said: “It’s a pleasure to be joining Savills and to be leading a dedicated leisure property management team. I’ve been lucky enough to work closely with a number of people from across the Savills business previously in my career, so now it’s a real privilege to be working alongside them in my new role.”

Nick Herward, head of property management at Savills, adds: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Julie to the business. Her appointment is an important step in the continued expansion of our management division and her wealth of experience and expertise will play a vital role in bolstering our specialist leisure property management provision.”
