Skate brands drop in to Covent Garden

The Mercers’ Company has announced that independent skate shop, No Chaos, and cult brand, Scum, have officially launched their experiential central London flagship stores in Covent Garden.

The 2,000 sq ft unit homes both brands, with No Chaos’ retail space on the first floor and Scum’s latest experiential and interactive youth club concept set up in the basement, featuring a half-pipe skate ramp, a selection of custom-made branded arcade games and a coffee bar

No Chaos’ store offers a range of apparel, skateboards and accessories, from popular skate brands around the world, whilst Scum features regular exclusive-to-store limited edition drops and the full Scum range.

Jamie Wilson, co-founder of No Chaos, commented: “We are incredibly proud of the space we have created in our new home on Neal Street and are excited to finally (and safely) welcome everyone into our much-anticipated interactive store. The vision for Scum’s basement designed by Jordan Cardy, was to construct a creative and energetic skating location for beginners and professionals alike, offering a place to learn, explore and play. Covent Garden is an intensively imaginative location within the capital, and we are happy to be joining a family of exciting brands already within the area.”

Simon Taylor, property director at the Mercers’ Company, added: “No Chaos and Scum are brilliant additions to our estate within Covent Garden, and we are thrilled to be growing our experiential offer to welcome Londoners back after a challenging year. The unique basement installation offers an exceptional interactive and cultural location in the heart of London and will no doubt be a footfall driver for visitors to the area.”

The signing follows the news that the Mercers’ Company officially unveiled an exclusive mural crafted by London based artist Rob Lowe, to mark the capital’s creativity in the heart of Covent Garden. Located on Mercer Street, Lowe’s debut mural spans nearly 2,000 sq ft across the exterior wall and pavement area of the London Graphic Centre building.
