Footwear brand joins outlet offer at Hull scheme

Skechers, the American lifestyle and performance footwear company, will open an outlet store at Princes Quay, the 300,000 sq ft centre in the heart of Hull city centre and home to the UK’s first in-town outlet mall in a traditional shopping centre.
Located on the main deck of Princes Quay, the retailer has signed for a double unit totalling 3,244 sq ft on a 10-year lease, where it will be situated alongside some of the centre’s full-price offering.

Realm leasing director Christine Grace said: “Skechers is a welcome addition to Princes Quay, where it joins the strong line-up of both outlet and full-price retailers, and is testament to the work we have undertaken to reposition the shopping centre within the city through this hybrid retail model. The outlet sector remains robust and we are sure that the Skechers outlet store, in its prominent location alongside the full price retailers, will prove to be a popular draw for customers to the centre.”

Princes Quay is anchored by a 12,000 sq ft Next Outlet store and has welcomed names including Ben Sherman, Sole Trader and Hamley’s to Hull City Centre. The unique repositioning project currently underway at Princes Quay will produce a new urban centre concept, combining outlet retail with a full price offer under the one roof for the first time in the UK. The project is being delivered by fund manager Seven Dials and asset and development manager Realm.
