    Sofa Club unveils new format

Intu Lakeside hosts first new-style unit ahead of national rollout

In a bid to drive people away from the internet and into shopping centres; fledging business Sofa Club are offering visitors to Intu Lakeside an innovative experience when purchasing the ‘best seats in the house’.

Sofa Club worked with designers, Blass Design to create a concept unit specifically designed to sit within a central mall location. Understated shades of distressed timber give way to accented pops of colour, with the innovative use of planting to support the simple geometry and brand message. Implying environmental context and scale, the design maintains an intimate and curated feel that could easily be mistaken for a permanent installation. However, the unit was simply popped up into position in a couple of out-of-hours sessions.

The new 12-meter-long, purpose built kiosk includes a bar where customers are welcome to a complimentary glass of prosecco while they check out fabrics and colour swatches with their designated host.

Sofa Club has now committed to rolling this concept out across multiple UK locations, with the next installation at Bluewater in May 2019.
