St James Quarter has announced the signing of internationally acclaimed SUSHISAMBA restaurant group to occupy the rooftop at W Edinburgh within the ongoing St James centre development.

SUSHISAMBA Edinburgh will open within W Edinburgh as part of St James Quarter’s final phase in 2022.

The restaurant will be the brand’s third UK location and its first outside of London, joining Amsterdam, Las Vegas, Dubai and two London sites Heron Tower and Covent Garden.

SUSHISAMBA Edinburgh will bring its blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine, culture, music and design to the Scottish capital, featuring a main dining room with views of Edinburgh’s iconic skyline, a vibrant bar & lounge, chef’s table, and outdoor terraces.

Ed Webb, director of development management at St James Quarter, said: “From the start, we’ve focused on ensuring St James Quarter attracts world-leading brands and securing SUSHISAMBA for the rooftop of W Edinburgh matches this ambition.

“SUSHISAMBA will bring a new level of energy and excitement to Edinburgh, showcasing a joint vision and innovative concepts not yet seen in the Scottish capital.”

Omar Gutierrez, chief operating officer of SUSHISAMBA, added: “Edinburgh and its international appeal make it a natural fit for SUSHISAMBA’s third UK location as we continue to expand our brand globally.  We look forward to unveiling our cutting-edge plans and are honoured to join the growing list of pedigree brands that make up St James Quarters’ iconic estate.”
