The Mercers’ Company has announced that The Conduit, a community committed to social, environmental, and economic change, has opened at 6 Langley Street, Covent Garden.
Spanning six floors, The Conduit is a focal point in the heart of London for its 3,000 members, including media leaders, policymakers, social entrepreneurs, academics, philanthropists, investors, academics, activists and civil society leaders, providing a platform for members to connect in person and share ideas about creating a sustainable and prosperous future. .
As part of the phased launch, The Conduit will be opening its own dedicated 2,000 sq ft public-facing restaurant later in October, which will host 80 covers inside and up to 40 covers outside.
Paul van Zyl, chief creative officer, The Conduit, commented on the opening: “We are very excited to announce the launch of The Conduit, in our beautiful new Covent Garden home. Our ecosystem has been designed to inspire and motivate our community by giving them access to content, connections, and capital, whilst providing relaxed, collaborative spaces and the very best in sustainable and ethical hospitality. Choosing the right location was key – there is such a strong feeling of community, creativity, and entrepreneurship here on the Mercers’ Estate and within the neighbourhood, and we couldn’t be more excited to call it our new home.”
Simon Taylor, property director at the Mercers’ Company, added: “The grade II listed building is the ideal space for The Conduit for its unique and high-profile concept. We are thrilled to welcome them to the community, particularly as their core ethical values and emphasis on sustainability reflect those of the Mercers’ Company which makes this an ideal partnership. We look forward to working with The Conduit community in their new Covent Garden home.”
