Zombie battles coming to intu Victoria Centre

MeetspaceVR is bringing Zero Latency, the global leader in free-roam multiplayer virtual reality gaming, to intu Victoria Centre, Nottingham, in October. The company has signed a six-year lease with intu to occupy a 6,000-sq ft unit in the upper mall of the intu Victoria centre.

Founded in 2014 in Australia, Zero Latency now operates from 19 venues in 10 countries across four continents, with over 500,000 games played to date. The advanced gaming platform provides an immersive gaming experience where players use their bodies as the controller via wearable technology. Up to eight players at a time can take on a variety of epic virtual challenges, including battling armies of zombies and droids and drones.

Martin Breeden, development director for intu, said: “MeetspaceVR is an exciting new brand that brings the global phenomenon of free roam VR gaming to the heart of Nottingham. It’s fantastic to see how an international brand is using a shopping centre environment as a platform to promote its product using the latest technology, and is another example of how intu is adapting to meet the needs of today’s customers.”
