Global beauty retailer Sephora UK has opened its doors to its first-ever Yorkshire location – at Meadowhall.

The highly anticipated launch saw 1,000 customers queuing to get into the new store.

Spanning 3,389sq ft, the new Sheffield store marks Sephora UK’s first opening of summer 2025, following its Liverpool ONE debut in May. It continues a rapid expansion streak, which in 2024 included new stores in Manchester Trafford Centre, Newcastle Eldon Square, Gateshead Metrocentre, Birmingham Bullring and Bluewater.Further openings are on the horizon – including Manchester Arndale, Oxford Westgate and Cardiff St David’s.

Sarah Boyd, managing director, Sephora UK, said: “2025 is shaping up to be one of our most exciting (and busiest!) years yet at Sephora UK and bringing our beauty playground to Sheffield is a huge part of that momentum. Every new store is a celebration of our commitment to making beauty more accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for the unique communities we join. No matter how many openings we have on the calendar, each one feels just as special, and our team can’t wait to open the doors for our Yorkshire beauty lovers.”

Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “This opening marks a major milestone for the centre, further elevating our premium beauty offering and reinforcing our position as one of the UK’s leading shopping destinations. Due to Sephora’s unique retail experience and exclusive product ranges we’re confident it will become a go-to destination for beauty lovers across the region.”
