Angel Central has announced that Søstrene Grene, the Danish lifestyle brand, is to make its Islington debut at the centre. The signing is a double milestone as the brand is the first retailer to sign for a dedicated store on Angel Central’s upper level.
Søstrene Grene will open a 5,588sqft unit, bringing its authentic Scandinavian style to Islington. The brand will further diversify the centre’s offer, joining the likes of Oliver Bonas, Flying Tiger and MUJI.
Søstrene Grene will be the first retailer to open a first-floor-only space at Angel Central, with the signing following the ground floor reaching full occupancy earlier this year. It will join UNIQLO and H&M’s double-floor stores, as well as a mix of F&B brands such as Wagamama and the newly opened Bababoom.
Simon Prince, asset manager at CBRE Investment Management, said: “Søstrene Grene will be a strong addition to Angel Central, fitting seamlessly into our retail lineup. Its dedicated position on the first floor will create even more opportunities for customers to dwell and shop, enhancing the visitor experience throughout the centre alongside a great F&B offer. It is a destination brand that brings with it its own varied customer base and aligns with our commitment to delivering the best possible shopping proposition. We look forward to seeing them open in the new year.”
Mikkel Grene, group CEO and co-owner of Søstrene Grene, added: “Angel Central is a destination that reflects our values of joy, ‘hygge’ and creativity. This is a great opportunity for us to bring our affordable range of Scandinavian home décor, small furniture and crafting items to the Islington community by offering a welcoming space where customers can discover beauty in the everyday.”
This latest signing follows the openings of Lovisa and Bababoom, continuing Angel Central’s strong momentum in attracting standout brands that elevate the centre’s offer.
