Castle Quarter Norwich has further strengthened its retail offer with the opening of a new ‘zero waste’ supermarket.

Ernie’s Zero Waste, which has relocated to Castle Quarter from its previous store in the city, has taken unit 62, totalling 1,397sq ft, on a new five-year lease. Specialising in unpackaged foodstuffs and cleaning products – sold through dispensers into shoppers’ own containers – Ernie’s launched online in 2018 and opened its first bricks-and-mortar store a year later.

In addition, London Camera Exchange has extended its commitment to Castle Quarter, signing a new five-year lease for its 1,424sq ft store at 12 Timber Hill. The chain, with outlets nationwide, is one of the UK’s leading photography retailers.

Mark Harvey, head of asset management at RivingtonHark, said: “It is always exciting to see a new concept arrive at Castle Quarter and, as such, Ernie’s Zero Waste is a fantastic addition to the retailer line-up. It is also pleasing to see London Camera Exchange recommit to the scheme, which speaks for itself in terms of the trading performance Castle Quarter is seeing and demonstrates the success of the approach we have sought to put in place – giving visitors a huge range of choice across retail, social, leisure and lifestyle operators.”

Roche and Jamieson Mills are the retained agents on Castle Quarter.
