Smiggle’s second Irish store to open in the Ilac
Australian stationery chain Smiggle is to open a second Irish store in Dublin city’s Ilac centre, following the successful launch of the brand at Dundrum Town centre earlier this year.
Since expanding to the United Kingdom three years ago, Smiggle has grown rapidly there and now has 90 UK stores. The chain plans to open as many as 20 stores in Ireland over the next three years, according to owner Premier Investments.
Irish Life and Hammerson’s Ilac centre recently marked 35 full years of city centre retail, and five new units were created in a €1.5m extension and refurbishment of the Moore Mall South.
This latest new retail offering brings to seven the total number of new stores opening in the Ilac Centre in the second half of this year, with BB’s, Chopped, Donuters, The Works, Nisbets, Regatta Great Outdoors, Head Music & Film and Flying Tiger joining the line-up. The centre is now fully let.
