Luxury childrenswear boutique, Il Porticciolo, has opened its debut location at 253 King’s Road.

Il Porticciolo has opened a 1,077 sq ft space boasting a two-level boutique, showcasing the brand’s classic childrenswear, including cashmere, pure merino wool jumpers, and traditional hand and machine-made smocked dresses ranging from ages 0 to 12 years old. Designed in-house by the brand, the King’s Road store marks Il Porticciolo’s only bricks-and-mortar location.

The luxury childrenswear retailer joins several stores on the Estate, such as Townhouse, the luxury nail care brand, Designer’s Guild, the inspirational home décor company, Timothy Oulton, the bespoke furniture brand, as well as the recently opened Jeroboams, the local wine merchant, and Birdie Fortescue, the boutique lifestyle brand.

Carola Ploederl Cafiero, founder of Il Porticciolo, commented on the first UK store: “The King’s Road is one of the most established and recognised locations in London and we are proud to call it our home. We’ve managed to form a strong online presence, and this flagship store will deliver a home for our customers and allow us to build our brand awareness further and be more accessible to the local community. Sloane Stanley has provided us with our first prominent space in the heart of Chelsea, and we look forward to being a part of this eclectic destination.”

Hannah Grievson, property director at Sloane Stanley, said: “Our long-term strategy for the Estate is to provide boutique-focused options and diversify our fashion and retail offer to cater for our community. Il Porticciolo is a unique addition to the King’s Road; it delivers a compelling proposition, it complements our existing tenants, and highlights the significance of the Estate in providing opportunities for flagship locations, and we’re pleased to have them as part of our growing retail portfolio.”

This announcement follows the latest news that Ultimate Performance, the world-leading personal training business, has also opened a 5,095 sq ft, three-floor London flagship at 293 Fulham Road, adding to the line-up within the neighbourhood.
