Online homeware and interior retailer Rowen Homes is set to open its first-ever bricks-and-mortar store in Metrocentre Gateshead this April.

The new store will be moving into the former Laura Ashley unit located in upper Platinum Mall. The shop will feature the brand’s luxury furniture and homeware, with plans to also include an experiential space, allowing customers to fully immerse themselves in the brand and also for the team to share their expertise through workshops, talks and events.

Rowen Homes is currently an online-only store that prides itself on its unique approach to homeware. Its curates and sells Instagram-worthy collections that have amassed a substantial social media following of over 1.3 million in just two years.

Ben Cox, senior asset manager for Metrocentre at Sovereign Centros, said: “We are delighted that Rowen Homes have chosen Metrocentre for their first ever physical store. It is great to support the growth of an award winning North East business. They have a strong digital presence which will be complemented by a fantastic new flagship store in Platinum Mall. We are confident their plans for a new experiential concept will be a popular addition to Metrocentre.

“The introduction of Rowen Homes follows the recent opening of female fashion brand Vanilla, while Zara, Flannels, Sports Direct and Everlast Gym will be opening flagship stores in the centre this autumn. This level of investment is set to continue with a number of large-scale developments and exciting announcements to be released in coming months.”
