Entertainment venue Lane 7 is set to open at Durham’s Walkergate leisure park, bringing its offer of ten pin bowling, competitive sports, music and quality food.

The 9,343 sq ft site at DTZ Investors’ leisure scheme has been let by commercial real estate firm Colliers on a 25-year lease to the boutique ten pin bowling operator.

The concept which also includes activities such as interactive darts, ping pong, Shuffle Board and retro arcade games will now open a new site at in the university town of Durham.

Walkergate is located adjacent to the core of the city centre, a short walk from the town’s Market Place, Silver Street high street as well as the Prince Bishops Place Shopping Centre and close to the Freeman’s Quay leisure centre and the Gala Theatre and Cinema.

Graeme Smith, Chief Operating Officer for Lane7, said: “I can’t wait to bring our premium bowling offering to Durham. The chance to open another site in a region that has supported us tremendously over the past decade was a no-brainer.”

Tom Beaumont, associate director in the leisure agency team at Colliers said: “I’m bowled over to strike a deal with Lane7 to become a new anchor tenant at Walkergate, Durham’s prime city centre leisure destination.

“Lane7 will undoubtedly bring new job opportunities and dynamic to the area with their consumer-focused experience which will include bowling, cricket batting cages, darts and arcade games to the area.
