This weekend will see the opening of the St.Enoch Centre’s new East End leisure hub, including a new nine-screen Vue cinema and nine restaurants.

The £40 million scheme opens its doors on Saturday (5 June) to the public coinciding with further easing of restrictions for the wider retail and hospitality offering in Scotland.

Vue have agreed a 20-year lease on their ultimate big screen experience with Sony 4K digital screens, Dolby surround sound and luxury leather seats bringing a new standard of quality to the city centre’s entertainment scene. Adjacent to the cinema, new restaurant lettings have been agreed with Cosmo, Nando’s, Delhi Darbar and Donut King.

On the lower level of the leisure hub TJ Hughes have signed a new 15-year lease on 40,000 sq ft.

Other new lettings have also been agreed in adjacent units, including Boom: Battle Bar and Hamleys.

Graeme Jones, senior asset manager at Sovereign Centros, commented: “St. Enoch Centre is a great example of the investment criteria needed for a successful scheme. Location and relevance are both critical. This centre is located in the heart of Glasgow providing tailored experiences for a wide demographic who want to shop, dine, socialise and see the latest movie releases in one location.
